Hi, I am Maija

a visual artist from a small town in Latvia - an incredibly serene and beautiful corner of the world.

I grew up being shaped by the quiet presence of wild forests and the roaring waves of the Baltic Sea.

In the last few years I have lived in different parts of the world. Each place made me discover a new side of myself and changed how I express through art. It inspired me to a different color palette, a different perspective, and enhanced my sense of wonder about nature.

These days, I create from my studio in the Netherlands. To me, being immersed in my creativity is the greatest thing there is. I love witnessing how intuition and self-reflection intertwine, eventually taking shape as a piece of art.. It is not always an easy process, but I wouldn’t exchange it for anything else.

From the moment I could hold a pencil, art became my way of understanding and interacting with the world. It was never a hobby —it was how I made sense of the world long before I knew how to explain my experiences with words.

As a kid, I made a deliberate choice to follow that pull of creativity, spending many years in art schools. And then many more experimenting, studying and trusting the creative voice that was always louder than any doubt around me.

My work explores the experience of being human: the inner landscapes we navigate, the beauty and deeper connection we reach for, the challenges that shape us and the quiet resilience that keeps us moving on.

I create for those seeking inspiration,  groundedness, and a deeper trust in themselves - to boldly live life on their own terms.
For those who love art that doesn’t just decorate a space, but transforms it.

For those who want to surround themselves with reminders of what real aliveness feels like.

If that’s you — Welcome!
I’m really glad you’re here
